I have a new favorite source code editor: Sublime Text. Very nice interface with pleasant fonts, cool choices of colors for syntax highlighting and tabs in the upper part of the window as opposed to the left or right side (contrast this behavior with Text Wrangler or Text Mate).
Give it a try.
Downside: it will set you back by 60 bucks if you fall in love with the editor and want to disable the sporadic window that pops up reminding you to get a license.
